Cannot access internet on Telecom aircard datacards
From New Zealand Connections
Telecom aircards typically come with all the settings and do not need to be set up. However if there are a few things that can impact connectivity.
Common issues:
- Data card not connected.
- Bars
- Coverage
- Software firewalls
Steps
1. Coverage: is there signal in the area where you are using the device? Are you able to see signal on the Aircard watcher application? Are you able to make calls from a Telecom CDMA phone?
2. Do you get any errors when you try to connect? If so, see the below section.
3. If it prompts for password, enter 'telecom'.
4. If it comes up with an error, check the connection settings. Click Tools.
5. Select connection manager.
6. Ensure that the phone number is #777, username mobile@jamamobile, password telecom. Dialing rules must be disabled.
If the device connects but you still aren't able to access the internet:
1. Check the proxy settings in your internet browser. You should not require any settings.
2. Check for any firewalls. Ensure that they are not blocking connections.
If you have performed all of the above, then you have exhausted most of the common checks that you can perform. You should consider contacting Telecoms mobile data support.
