I can't browse the Internet using my Wi-Fi wireless broadband network
From New Zealand Connections
This article discusses situations where you are unable to access the internet using your wireless connection. Due to the divesity of wireless connections, it is impossible to list all the exact steps - instead one will generalise.
Common causes:
- Are you connected to the wireless access point? You may need to check your operating system help guide for instructions.
- No internet connection present - Make sure you can access internet on using a Ethernet cable
- Out of range - Make sure you are within range of the wireless router. Many operating systems will let you view the signal level.
- Incorrect TCP/IP settings - Check them. Most routers use DHCP which means you don't need to specify an IP address
- Incorrect encryption keys - Some types of wireless encryption will still let you connect even if you have the wrong key. Make sure you have the right one.
