Sometimes when you receive calls, make calls or use other devices connected to your landline, you may find that you lose internet access. This is not normal as DSL is designed to work regardless of whether you are using the landline or not.

The common cause is that devices are connected without using a DSL filter. With DSL, all devices must be filtered or a splitter is required.

  • When you experience loss of service when the line is in use, check all of your devices on your line. They need to have a filters attached.
  • Check devices such as sky boxes, faxes, st johns alarms etc. to ensure that they are all filtered.
  • If you have an alarm that uses the phone line, you need to ensure that a splitter has been installed.
  • If they all have devices attached, try removing all devices, isolating the modem and then adding devices on one by one. It may be a device that is causing an issue or is faulty.
