Telecom Mobile Broadband settings

From New Zealand Connections

Jump to: navigation, search

Mobile broadband settings are relatively straight forward as they are provided by default with the Mobile Broadband Aircards. Installing the application will typically restore these settings as well.

However, there are situations where you may wish to set these settings up manually. You'll need these settings to set up PDA's, datacards, or phones/pda's being used as a data modem. Keep in mind that if you don't have a data plan, you'll be charged Telecoms casual mobile broadband pricing.

The following devices will need the settings (though typically come with it as a default dialer):

PDAs:

Treo 600,

Treo 650,

Treo 700WX,

Falcon,

Harrier,

Apache,

Titan*,

Tritan,

Agent*,

Boss*,

Touch*,

  • * These devices have internet sharing and thus only the PDA needs the settings below. Other PDA's will require the PC to be set up a dial up connection with the below settings.

Phones:

  • Most Nokia CDMA handsets can be used as mobile broadband modem.
  • Other handsets such as the Samsung and Sanyo phones may not connect (some can though).
  • Okta Agent

Nokia phones are limited to 1X connectivity.

Datacards:

Any Gtran card/other connected CDMA datacard

Anydata

Sierra Aircard 580

Sierra Aircard 595

Sierra Aircard 595U

Sierra Aircard 597E

Phone number: #777

Username: mobile@jamamobile.co.nz

Password: telecom

Note that area code dialling must be disabled.

If you are getting invalid username or password, it generally suggests either the username + password is wrong, the device is not programmed correctly, or a bar has been entered. Contacting Telecom would be a good idea.
